A sweet, pregnant "blogger friend" recently asked me, and I quote, "My belly button feels like it's going to burst this evening, please tell me it won't?"
Well Meghan, um I mean anonymous pregnant blogger friend, here's your answer: I don't know who that poor lady is, but she's 10 days overdue with her first child in that picture. And yes, it would appear that her belly button is about to burst, but I assure you it did not, and I don't believe yours will either. The artwork on her swollen abdomen is courtesy of Jon Garland and is not to be copied or reproduced in any way.

That must have been quite a sight for the nursing staff. Mine never did pop out. (I know weird hun.) But I loved feeling that soft virgin skin around the belly button. Anyone know what I am talking about? Anyone?
Honestly, I don't get it. Do you mean how soft the belly button felt?
And why are you not in bed?!!!
What a cute belly! Thank you for this post, each day my little button feels like it comes out a little more, and more, and more! I'm only half way!! I know skin was made to stretch on our bellies, but come on!!!
Becca, I can't say I know what you mean about the skin around the belly button....elaborate??
And, what are you BOTH doing awake at 1230 AM??
Love the picture!! Great art work Jon! :)
Liz,
I'm so glad you can help Meghan ...my skin never felt tight to me and my belly button never popped out either! I was much more like Becca, I just had the belly button give me a little extra...
And how cute is your belly? I was just fat during my whole pregnancy (I gained 50 pounds) so I never had that cuteness!!!
I've always said that the best part about being pregnant was finally being able to get every last speck of lint out of my belly button. It's never been cleaner! : )
Great picture! I have one kind of like that, but my belly was COVERED in ugly stretch marks... so I will never post that one!!
Yours, on the other hand, was adorable, and I love the art work! ;)
You make a belly button cute! I on the other hand was teased shortly after my belly button hemoraged. It hurt!!! It was a sight to see when I was at the gym. People would just stare at me with my belly going in and out with each movement I made.
I totally am laughing at Sharon's comment! I loved getting my belly button clean, too. My husband hated how much I played with my belly button! :-) I totally love that you posted that picture!
Leave it to Becca to say somehing that makes no sence to me. Maybe she was talking about the belly button skin that is usually all folded. Don't know.
Mine popped out almost the second I found out I was pregnant. My turkey timer was telling me it was goign to be a long pregnancy and to prep for the ride!
I will have to post my scary belly pic on my blog so Meghan can feel better.
By the way I found you off the ever so popular Becca's blog.
Okay Liz...you'll have to go check out by enourmous belly picture!
Really I am the only one that had this soft, silky skin around my belly button? I am so going to google this. Maybe I am just a total freak of nature. IF I ever have another baby I'll let all of you feel the streached belly button skin.
Mine never pops out, but I can push on it and then it does. My girls are loving this new trick. And why is it that pregnancy has to be so l o n g ???
Ok~off the subject of belly buttons:
I've decided that you need to put your commments in a pop-up window so that the music doesn't keep getting interupted! I wanted to listen to Jennifer Knapp finish her song, but it gets cut off every time I enter commentville.
You have such great music on your blog and I'd love to hear it while I read the comments! Am I being too bossy and demanding??? It's a compliment, really it is! : )
"I'm forgiven because you were forsaken. I'm accepted, you were condemned. I'm alive and well, your spirit lives within me, because you died and rose again....."
Wow! What a great song! I think I'll linger in commentville while I listen to it! ; )
